Project presentation : Guided Ammunition technologies: steps forward from initial studies to the current national programs

Thursday 21st June –  Conference Room 1

Main Theme:

Project presentation: Guided Ammunition technologies: steps forward from initial studies to the current national programs – Organized by NAVARM

Executive Summary:

Naval Artillery Systems still keep a relevant role in the operation capabilities of the present and future warships. The affordability of new technology in miniaturized sensors, electronic and motors allow the naval artillery rounds to evolve into a new generation of guided ammunitions. This progress will cancel the historical limits of artillery rounds in terms of precision and ranges. The long term collaboration between Italian Ministry of Defence and Leonardo S.p.A. Defence Systems lead the guided ammunitions programs in a wider European team to delivery these new capabilities to the Naval and Land Forces.
